And ANOTHER Good Thing

Another good thing about exercising is that, since we're out at dawn, we can do any shopping that needs to be done while it's still relatively cool outside and the stores aren't crowded.

And then we're done with all the chores by like 8:00 and I can have the rest of the day to work.

We swam today -- I think this is the first time I've gone swimming since I was about 26. I didn't forget how.

You haven't convinced me yet, but you are probably the most motivation for regular exercise I've had. Maybe one of these days I will actually do something! (Disclaimer: I do go for walks, but I am at the point where I need to start doing some kind of strength exercise etc.)

What I especially like about early-morning exercise is that I feel like it gives me protected time to actually do it. Back when I tried later-day exercise, I found that it got a lot easier to miss-- something taking longer than it should have, a sick kid, a work crisis... all sorts of things could keep me from getting to it. I also like the sense of having done something at the very start of my day. I like feeling like whatever else happens, at least one checkmark got done and cannot be erased.

Anon: Yes, I really like getting it done at dawn. Even if I don't do anything else for the rest of the day, I know I've done that. I've accomplished something! And it's only eight a.m.!

N&M: I've got so much more free time now that the kid is out on his own. Freeing up that time is a big factor in starting exercising again. Also, joining the gym. I don't know why, but that's also made a big difference.
