Well, That was Upsetting
I just had my first wreck -- I mean, the first one that was my fault.
Readers of the blog will remember I was hit from behind by a guy in a truck last August -- that wreck wasn't my fault.
This time, though, I was in a hurry and changed lanes without looking (never change lanes without looking -- d'oh!) and side-swiped a Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Not much damage, to his car or mine, and no one was hurt, but still: traumatic, inconvenient, and I caused both him and me to miss our appointments, so, you know, annoying. Also I got a ticket. Which I imagine is going to turn out to be pricey.
"No one got hurt," the very nice policeman said. "That's what's important."
Drive careful out there, y'all.
UPDATE: I paid the ticket. You can pay them online now! $150, in total. Not as bad as it might have been!

Every accident I've had -- three total -- has been my fault. :( Weirdly they ALL happened pre-cell phone days. Knock on wood.
But I'm glad no one was seriously hurt!
Oh no! I am glad nobody was hurt.
Yes, that's the good part!
I feel really stupid, though. Why didn't I check before I switched lanes? That's like Driving 101. Bah.
Years ago, when pulling out of a parking lot with blocked visibility, I had a little run-in with someone else's bumper. The ticket was for "driving in such a way so as not to avoid an accident" - it was the cheapest & lowest points (only 2!) the officer could find. Don't know if it's still an option - LOL!
I don't think we have the point system here. Anyway, I've never heard of it before (I just looked it up to see what it was.
Here it the Ozarks, drivin' is our God-given RIGHT, y'all.
I'm sorry to hear about the accident, but very very happy no one was hurt.
And it's good the ticket wasn't too outrageously expensive!
