Cold Wednesday

We got another three or four inches of snow overnight. It's currently five degrees.

We still have heat here, and so far no power losses in our house, though my students have been emailing me for the past two days about losing their internet and their power. 

We're almost out of dog food, milk, and cream. No way to get to the store on these roads. We do have frozen hamburger we can feed to dog, in a pinch, and I have a can of condensed milk and a box of coconut milk. (I have to have milk in my coffee; Dr. Skull likes cream, but he can make do with butter.)

The coffee cake was excellent, by the way.

Snow Day

We got about an inch of snow here today. Freezing rain coming tonight.

The university cancelled morning classes, but since I don't teach on Wednesday, it's all the same to me. I'm bundled up under a blanket drinking coffee, wondering about classes tomorrow.

Our new yard is lovely in the snow, by the way!

Snow!

We got about an inch and a half of snow here last night, which means that the entire NW Arkansas region has shut down entirely. Central Arkansas is getting more snow as we speak.

Snow day for my kid. I woke her at dawn with the news. There was much rejoicing.

Indeed, she promptly returned to bed, and is celebrating by sleeping until noon.

I'm drinking coffee and writing and watching my snowy yard be snowy.

I love snow days.

SNOW DAY!!!

It's been snowing since before dawn here, and getting steadily colder and snow, at just before eleven, the university has finally called classes.

Yay!  Snow day!  More coffee and writing for me.

Sadly, however, HDD and I are out of food, having neglected to do the Southern Panic Thing yesterday (when impending snow is announced) of rushing out to buy milk and bread and ice.  We both teach all day on Wednesday & did not have time.

Oh, well.  Who needs anything but coffee anyway?
