I gotta say it's great living in a blue city, even if we are in Arkansas.
Our city council banned using city money to buy Flock cameras.
The systems can be prone to error or abused, according to multiple national news outlets. The information the systems collect can lead to wrongful detainment or even serve as a tool for criminal behavior, such as stalking.
I know this is only common sense, not some woke marvel, but it's nice have a city that does things that make sense, and make life better for its population.

They're lining all the roads on my way to work. :(
This reminds me of a bit I saw comedian Josh Johnson do where he said people kept asking him what it was like to have Mamdani as a mayor. Mamdani had promised a lot of things, and now he is doing them. It shouldn't be shocking. But it's like when a woman goes on her first good date. "Wow, this is a real restaurant! They have food! There are waiters!" "Um, you said you wanted to go on a date." "Yeah, but I thought you might try to kill me."
Anyway, yay for things that make sense getting done! And also, yay for your title not being sarcasm!
I spent over 20 years in Fort Smith, which is frankly sucked. I remember a long debate about whether to put in sidewalks because why would anyone need sidewalks? Ditto the proposal to give more money to the public libraries and to put in bike trails. Why would we give money to libraries? Only hippies want bike trails. Etc.
So it's great living here where the vibe is "let's make things better for everyone if we can."
