This year, we're driving down to New Orleans to stay with my parents for the holidays. Christmas and Hanukkah coincide this year, interestingly -- or at least the first day of Hanukkah coincides with Christmas. I'll be hauling bags of presents with us, is what this means, mostly.
Also, I have to remember to do about six billion things. So far I've reserved the rental car (our car being unreliable), reserved a space for the dog (we have to board him, though the cats will stay here and be looked in on by a friend), bought presents, and plotted our route.
Still to do:
- Stop the mail
- Clean the house (so I don't shock the guy coming to check on the cats, and because I hate coming home to a filthy house)
- Do laundry
- Wrap presents
- Pack everything, including Menorah and candles, Dreidel & gelt
- Remember to take along meds for everyone
- Especially Xanax
- Remember to take along chargers for everyone's electronics
- Get key to cat-sitter
- Find some books on tape everyone will listen to happily (HAHAHA)
- ??? I know I'm forgetting about eleven things

I, too, tend to clean before I leave. There's something so nice about coming home to a clean house!
Wishing you happy holidays, safe travels, and a wonderful visit!
Thanks! Do you have holiday plans?
I do! I'm going to visit my brother, and play a duet with my niece (who's studying Clarinet at college, while I've just started violin) and have fun!
Oh, that sounds lovely!
