I made the mistake of putting ice in my cat's water one day when the weather was very hot.
Now she stands by the water and mews hysterically until I put ice in the water. Then and only then will she drink.
Also: she insists on me carrying her to her food dish when she is hungry.

My husband went to graduate school with a person whose cat would only eat the liquid from canned wet food.
As my mother would say, I think the cat has you well-trained.
She does!
You can buy just that now-- they're called soups! My MIL's cat also prefers only the liquid from canned wet food, but fortunately there's less waste these days.
