Ugh, yes. Here's what I tried: Last year I needed to sort through a big pile of books in my office, get rid of a bunch, and put the rest into some semblance of order. This involved some crawling around on the floor and reaching back into deep cabinets. I asked an English major who loves books to help me and, in exchange, I gave him first dibs on the giveaway pile. I ended up with a shelf full of books arranged in alphabetical order and he walked away with a pile of books that might serve him well in grad school. Win/win!
