The Kitten Trap

Our second cat, Junti, used to be our kitten.

Now that Junti is a cat...

...the kid says it's time for a new kitten.  That's what she said when Jasper -- who used to be our kitten...

...became our cat.

This is a trap, isn't it?

I can tell you from experience that five cats is too many. As are 6 and 7 and 8.

I have the perfect kitten for you too. ^_^

I KNOW you do, Whitney! I keep seeing your pictures on FB. Believe me, I am deeply tempted!

We have a twelve-paw limit rule in our house.

Fie upon this quiet life! said...

I really like cats. But I already have two that sleep on me every night....

Kittens are so adorable though.

Ha -- 12 paw rule!

It's getting crowded in our bed too, Fie!

It's a trap, and very hard to resist. We have 12 paws in our house but if a kitten crossed my path we'd make room because what are you going to do about it? --L

L-- IKR? I'm trying very hard to resist!

resistance is futile. I'll get the twins to get better, cuter, more irresistible pictures.

NOOOOOO!

I can't take much more cuteness!

We only have two cats and they are both now six years old, so we could be in the market for a kitten except for a few minor points.

Our cats have to spend the night in separate parts of the house with the door shut between them to avoid fratricide. (Is it fratricide when you murder your sister?)

One of them was at the vet's last week for expensive injections for allergies, and spent nearly a week in a Buster collar. That's the second time this summer and happens most summers.

She's fine now so this week the other one is in the collar, and may need sedating tomorrow so the vet can get a good look at his sore foot. It's just another regular event: dealing with Rufus's war wounds from his fighting.

I couldn't manage another kitten no matter how sweet it was!

Ow, fairlyhedgehog!

Our cats fought when Junti was a tiny kitten; but they love each other now.

The only real fights they have are over whose box the current shipping box is.

Sometimes we get a box that is big enough for two cats, but almost invariably they are not interested in that box.

Isn't that always the way with cats? And if you went out and bought boxes that were the right size and shape so they could both have one, what's the betting they'd disdain them completely?
