This is the blog of Kelly Jennings, science fiction writer.
I ordered a washing machine online (who knew you could do that?) from a local hardware store and it is scheduled to be delivered today.
At the same time as the tornados arrive.
I got online after going to the laundromat yesterday. It costs me $30 to do a week's worth of clothes. The store was having a sale, 30% off, and they'll deliver the new one and haul away the old one. So it's a good deal, except for the tornado.
Yeah, the days of going to the laundromat with a few quarters and dimes is long gone!
Right? Washing machines used to cost fifty cents and dryers were a dime. Even adjusted for inflation, that's only $1.50 and a quarter. It was $3.50 to wash a load on the cheapest machine yesterday, and $2.50 to dry.
