Sorting Books

Still sorting and alphabetizing books. I made it through the J's today.

You would not believe how tiring this is. I mean, most books can't weight more than half a pound, right? And I'm only working at this a few hours a day. But at the end of the day I'm aching like I've been bailing hay or digging ditches.

Also, books are very dusty.

Also, we have so much poetry. You'd think one of us was married to a poet or something.

I need to do this so badly. I actually double bought two scholarly books (about 30 bucks each) because I forgot I had bought them before. Organized shelves would help avert such disasters.

That's one of the main reason we're doing it -- more than once, over the past few years, we've literally bought another copy of a book we know we own because we just couldn't find it in the disorganized chaos that our shelving system had become.

Plus side, though -- I'm finding so many books I'd forgotten we owned!

I would so do this for you. I love alphavetizing books. It is a treat for me. I need someone else to take them off the shelves and dust first though since I'm pretty allergic.

I wish you were here! I would dust and you could alphabetize!

The hard part is getting Dr. Skull to agree to prune books. He wants to keep *everything*, even old reference books that are way out of date, not to mention useless, now that we have the internet.
