Whatever the reason I'm thinking (and hoping) it's damn juicy.
That woman is too narcisstic and doubt she is quiting for her family. There's a scandle or mishandled money or she has a new man or he has a new woman or she is gay or he has a kiddie porn or something. There is something happening that is about to break. She wants to get out of dodge before it breaks.
