That Chuck Tingle seems different than his usual fare. I'm not sure if that's good or bad! In his lower quality books there's a certain satisfaction in the cartoonish villains being comically pounded into oblivion. They're full of typos but you don't really care about anyone who dies. This sounds like not that.
Yes, this is departure from his usual books. I liked it, though.
