It's seven degrees here, with about five inches of snow on the ground, and more snow coming tonight.
"Rolling blackouts" are being used because our infrastructure was not designed for this sort of cold. Everyone is being asked to keep their heat at 65 or below and not to use any inessential items -- like dishwashers or washing machines. One request asked us to "skip the shower." Which, argh.
Dr. Skull is making me a coffee cake. This is probably a non-essential use of the oven.
I'll let you know how it turns out.

Ugh. Hope you can stay reasonably warm and that the power outages stop soon!
We still haven't been hit with a rolling blackout, even though the other half of our HOA has. I don't know why we've escaped-- usually we're among the first to lose power when something goes wrong.
DH is making challah because the kids ate all his grandmother's rolls that he made yesterday. Apparently this week is for comfort baking.
Mmm, challah!
If any is left over, have him make French toast with it -- that's what Dr. Skull used to do for our kid.
Keep warm!
Your infrastructure really isn't well set for this sort of cold and snow!
It really isn't!
