The GOP and Reality
The GOP has literally lost touch with reality.
According to the GOP, "middle class" means someone who makes between $70,000 and $125,000/year. That's (1).
(2) is that -- according to the GOP -- people making this amount of money are "working class."
I mean, who doesn't make that, am I right?
And anyone who makes less than $35,000 a year? Those people just don't exist, apparently.

Given inflation, maybe they're right that the ability to live a middle-class starts life at 70K/year... that means 91% of individuals and 55% of households are below middle-class. That should be considered a federal emergency followed up with big FDR-style programs to increase the income of the average American.
That link I shared a few days ago (this one https://www.thirdway.org/report/the-opportunity-index-ranking-opportunity-in-metropolitan-america ) argued just that, more or less -- you needed two incomes, both making at least $44,000 +, in order to qualify for a stable middle class income.
Only 38% of households, according to their data, did so.
Speaking of income, delagar, do you have a Patreon?
I do not! Maybe I should think about getting one.
